Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer (ME) is a critical member of the Customer Focused Team, responsible for bringing customer's new product designs into realization. The ME ensures that products always meet customer requirements and specifications, with 'cradle to grave' ownership from prototype stage through to sustaining production. The ME will define the assembly process, product flow, materials, methods, and tools necessary to bring new products to the company portfolio.

Customers will see the ME as an extension to their engineering team, proposing DFx solutions and recommendations to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality. This role collaborates with the production team to analyze and resolve various technical issues related to supplier quality, SMT, or backend mechanical assembly. The ME ensures engineering changes are properly implemented and that configuration management is maintained throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Manage and schedule new product launch activities.
• Develop manufacturing processes and create Assembly Documents for new products.
• Handle sustaining engineering activities, including engineering changes and managing configuration management within business systems.
• Interface with subject matter experts in Test Engineering and Process Engineering for test/equipment capabilities development.
• Create, control, and distribute engineering change orders and maintain revision control.
• Analyze customer documentation such as assembly drawings, CAD files, and BOMs to ensure thorough integration into internal documents.
• Review PCB board designs from customers, optimize layouts, and discuss technical details with suppliers.
• Support production teams with sustaining engineering activities, including root cause analysis of manufacturing non-conformances.
• Respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
• Effectively present information to top management, public groups, and customers.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent experience in an electronics-related discipline
• Minimum 3 years of electronics manufacturing experience
• Detailed electronic component and PCB knowledge
• Experience with Aegis Factory Logix software is an asset
• DFM, PFMEA, Lean/Six Sigma Fundamentals required
• PLM/ERP experience is highly desired
• CAM350 experience is highly desired
• New Product Introduction experience is highly desired
• Ability to manage several projects at once and prioritize workload

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Extended knowledge of industry-accepted manufacturing, quality, and technical standards (IPC, JIT, Lean, etc.)
• ISO 9001 and ISO experience preferred
• AS9100 and/or medical device manufacturing experience is an asset
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical documents including schematics and prints
• Ability to interpret engineering tolerances
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Above average communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to sort, filter, and analyze data in Excel
• Organized and self-motivated with a strong ability to multi-task
• Comfortable presenting to and meeting customers in person

Work Environment

Physical Demands: As expected within a typical office environment, but may occasionally spend extended periods standing or walking in a production environment. The incumbent must possess enough strength to safely maneuver around equipment or materials and lift 25lbs without injury. Clear vision at 20 inches or less is required, along with color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors) and depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships). Mental Demands: Emotionally capable of professionally handling high-pressure situations in a fast-paced, highly demanding industry. Working Conditions: Equal mix of office and production environment. Safety clothing and gear are required when working in safety-sensitive areas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
