Mechanical Designer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer with expertise in 3D modeling, particularly using SolidWorks. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a solid understanding of sheet metal design, and knowledge of engineering drawing guidelines and standards. This role requires excellent time management abilities and familiarity with electro-mechanical switchgear.

Responsibilities

• Operate independently on medium-scale assigned projects.
• Fully model and create parts and assemblies in SolidWorks for various projects.
• Create and revise fully detailed engineering prints.
• Provide technical direction for prototype builds and initial builds as required.
• Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) for fabrication.
• Create and release projects through the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process.
• Conform to drafting and department standards and processes.
• Lead designers as appropriate on jobs and projects.

Essential Skills

• Experience operating a 3D design tool with a preference for SolidWorks.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of sheet metal design.
• Understanding of engineering drawing guidelines and standards.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Knowledge of electro-mechanical switchgear.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude.
• Experience in mechanical design.
• Ability to operate independently on assigned projects.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $70000.00
