Job Description
We are seeking a talented Mechanical Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will take specifications from engineers and provide design support using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. This role involves machine design, piping and piping layout, fitting, machine parts, tank design, structural design, and detail machine parts. Additionally, plant layout and design are key components of this role, with a focus on industrial and plant experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide design support using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Design machines, including piping, machine parts, and tanks.
- Detail machine parts and create structural designs.
- Select appropriate piping and layout fittings.
- Perform plant and industrial layout and design, including machine footings, bases, and holding tanks.
- Run projects from start to finish.
- Support the machine shop with parts design.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- At least 2 years of experience in machine design.
- Experience in mechanical design, layout, and structural design.
- Ability to manage projects from start to finish.
- Industrial experience, particularly in piping, structural, and plant layout.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering or CAD.
- Experience in the paper industry is a plus.
Work Environment
You will be working at our office in Abbington, which houses a small team of five professionals, including three mechanical designers and two electrical personnel. The role also involves supporting our machine shop with parts design. You will have the opportunity to work on various projects, providing exposure to different manufacturing companies and potential for growth.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr.
