Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to design one of our major products, the electrical slip ring. This product transmits continuous power and electrical signals from a stationary to a rotating structure. You will review customer specifications and analyze proposed designs to ensure they meet requirements, collaborate with customers and engineers, and manage custom projects from initial inquiry to final delivery. You will also translate customer orders into engineering designs, create 3D models and detailed drawings, design assembly and test fixtures, and periodically update engineering data within our internal ERP system.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical slip rings.
• Review and analyze customer specifications.
• Collaborate with customers and engineers on custom projects.
• Translate customer orders into engineering designs.
• Create 3D models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks.
• Design assembly and test fixtures.
• Create Bill of Materials for slip ring products.
• Update engineering data in the ERP system.
• Investigate and resolve issues raised during assembly.
• Optimize the assembly process for future builds.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
• Proficient computer skills, including Word and Excel.
• High attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical assembly.
• Project management skills.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers.

Work Environment

You will work in a collaborative and employee-friendly environment with opportunities to mentor junior engineers. The role involves working on projects mainly for military base contracting, including collaborations with Fortune 500 companies. This is a low production facility where you may work on 4-5 complex projects per year. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.46
