Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and marine engineering, specifically with experience related to the US Navy or shipyards. This role involves designing and developing drawings in AutoCAD, reviewing technical documents, and ensuring clear communication across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop drawings in AutoCAD.
• Check and review drawings for accuracy and completeness.
• Interpret and apply technical correspondence, specifications, and manuals.
• Draft technical correspondence.
• Survey and document conditions on-board NAVY ships to facilitate complete and accurate SID development.
• Communicate information and changes to multidisciplinary programs to ensure a composite Ship Alteration drawing package.
• Clearly and precisely write and communicate problems and solutions.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong background in mechanical engineering.
• Experience in marine engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of electrical and CAD design.
• At least 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with US Navy or shipyard projects.
• Demonstrated excellence in writing and communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• HVAC design experience is a plus.

Work Environment

This position requires working onsite five days a week at a mid-sized company located in a seaport area. The office environment is smaller, fostering a close-knit team atmosphere. Teamwork and collaboration are highly valued among the engineering staff.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
