Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will implement modifications to existing part and assembly designs, design new parts and assemblies based on specifications from senior team members, and perform engineering analysis of part tolerances and assembly variation. The role also includes executing and documenting design reviews, completing detail drawings, working with machine shops for prototyping, and performing dimensional and functional evaluations of qualification components.
Responsibilities
- Implement modifications to existing part and assembly designs based on specifications from senior team members.
- Design new parts and assemblies based on specifications from senior team members.
- Perform engineering analysis of part tolerances and assembly variation.
- Execute and document design reviews for mechanical designs, incorporating feedback from review team.
- Complete detail drawings and accurately document design intent for new and existing designs.
- Work with internal or external machine shops to prototype components and validate designs.
- Perform dimensional and functional evaluation of qualification components and communicate results with vendors.
- Create part specification document packets and release them in the Agile system.
- Support multiple projects, stakeholders, and timelines simultaneously.
- Engage in the design and development of electronics packaging using Creo.
- Work closely with vendors and internal engineering teams to deliver products within prescribed time constraints, cost forecasts, and quality standards.
- Oversee the assembly of the product to ensure it meets design specifications.
Essential Skills
- Injection molding, metal stamping, and machined component design experience.
- 3 years of experience with product development and/or support.
- Proficiency with PTC Creo & Windchill.
- Ability to interpret and create engineering drawings per ASME Y14.5-2009 standards.
- Ability to learn quickly and attention to detail.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to understand and follow directions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Design for Manufacturing.
- 3D modeling experience, preferably with Pro-E/Creo, but Solidworks or other 3D design packages are acceptable.
- Experience designing injection molded parts and/or stamped sheet metal parts.
- Tolerance analysis experience, including designing mechanical assemblies with tolerances in mind.
- Experience interfacing with suppliers to get component parts made.
- Knowledge of ANSYS or other stress analysis tools (a plus, but not required).
- Mechanically inclined with a sense of how mechanical components work and transfer power.
- Willingness to take direction from individuals of varying levels of experience.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
