Job Title: Mechatronics Engineer
Description:
Actalent is seeking an important entry level addition to one of our largest programs in the area. We provide onsite professional service resources to support a fleet of prototype heavy duty trucks, focusing on powertrain electronic control and diagnosis. This individual will be responsible for mechatronic/electrical systems on several validation vehicles. Using data extracted from the vehicles, they will diagnose powertrain system faults and participate in weekly meetings collaborating with Detroit colleagues. It is also required to collaborate with several other teams with varying disciplines to delegate vehicle status.
Duties:
- Prepare, troubleshoot and support reliability and engineering vehicles specific to electrical engineering related items
- Diagnose vehicle powertrain issues pertaining to performance and fault codes
- Communicate issues and test results within customer Powertrain Engineering from Reliability Growth and Engineering vehicles through data reduction and fault code root cause analysis
- Develop post processing tools to analyze data more efficiently
- Schedule time according to established job priorities
- Conduct vehicle experiments to determine hardware, software, and calibration parameter specifications that best meet the technical performance requirements of the project
- Complete project work and draw conclusions and make recommendations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree nice to have (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or Electrical), but Associates degree (Mechatronics, Automotive especially) could work very well
- Internship experience and/or SAE Baja or Formula automotive club experience strongly preferred (or 1-2 years professional experience)
- Automotive interest and/or experience (preferred through Formula or Baja teams in school, internships, or having worked in a mechanic/automotive shop)
- Skilled within mechatronics, electrical and control systems
- Ideally experience with data analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis, as well as report writing
- Programming/coding experience with Matlab, Python, C, C , C#, Java (don't need all of them)
- Technical aptitude and problem solving skills
- Strong computer skills – MS Windows/Office and ability to learn new programs

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $34.00/hr.
