Job Description

We are seeking a Medical Assistant for our Geriatrics Primary Care location in Farmington. The position offers a Monday to Friday schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM, with no weekends and minor holidays required. Candidates must be local, residing within 75 miles or less. This role requires the ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with EPIC EMR system and wearing any color of scrubs is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing patient visits and follow-ups by scheduling appointments.
• Process insurance claims and verify patient insurance information.
• Update and organize patient files and medical records.
• Manage incoming calls, provide information, and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
• Support healthcare providers in delivering primary care services to geriatric patients.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant in Primary Care.
• Possession and maintenance of AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program (CAAHEP or ABHES).
• Current registration as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by AAMA or an equivalent certifying body.
• Proficiency with the EPIC EMR system.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in handling insurance paperwork and maintaining medical records.
• Ability to manage the calendar for patient visits and follow-ups.
• Effective communication skills for answering phones and managing calls.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $25.00/hr.
