Back Office Medical Assistant | Seminole, FL

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical assisting, patient follow-ups, and data entry. You will be responsible for answering inbound phone calls, ordering labs, relaying lab results, scheduling follow-ups, and triaging patients. The position requires medical experience and proficiency in using EMR systems, specifically Athena.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient follow-ups and updates
• Enter patient data accurately
• Answer inbound phone calls
• Order and manage lab tests
• Relay lab results to patients and healthcare providers
• Schedule follow-up appointments
• Triage patients based on their medical needs
• Provide clinical support as needed

Essential Skills

• Medical assisting experience (1 years)
• High School Diploma
• Experience with EMR systems, particularly Athena
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to handle patient care and appointment scheduling

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Medical Assisting diploma or certification preferred
• BLS certification
• Front desk experience
• Experience with insurance processing

Work Environment

• The position is based onsite at a clinic, working Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
