Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Medical Office Assistant to join our multi-specialty medical practice. This role involves patient education, managing phone calls, handling scans, verifying medications, checking patients in and out, scheduling appointments, and managing prior authorizations.
Responsibilities
- Educate patients on various health topics.
- Manage phone calls and respond to patient inquiries.
- Handle medical scans and ensure accurate documentation.
- Verify medications and update records accordingly.
- Check patients in and out efficiently.
- Schedule appointments and manage the calendar.
- Process prior authorizations for medical procedures and treatments.
Essential Skills
- Experience with electronic health records.
- Knowledge of healthcare and medical terminology.
- Ability to triage and manage patient care in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Medical Assistant Diploma is necessary.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with EPIC or similar electronic health record systems.
- Appointment scheduling experience.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced medical office.
Work Environment
This is a multi-specialty float role based in Stamford/Greenwich. The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm. The environment is dynamic and requires adaptability to various tasks and responsibilities. A flu shot is mandatory for all employees.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00
