Job Title: Microbiologist

Job Description

Document experiments in accordance with company policies, procedures, and protocols demonstrating a working knowledge of microbiology tasks and the application of scientific principles and technologies. Work collaboratively with a team to develop and implement microbiological test procedures that support drug substance, drug product, excipient, compounded sterile preparation activities, and microbiological sample testing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare solutions, samples, and standards for use in procedures and prevent waste or loss of materials.
• Meet requirements for annual gowning and aseptic handling certifications.
• Conduct sterility and endotoxin testing in the cleanroom.
• Perform environmental monitoring as needed.
• Maintain proper waste disposal handling and record keeping.
• Participate in the execution and optimization of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment and instrumentation per cGMPs.
• Correctly analyze and interpret the outcome of experiments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science/Biology
• 0-1 year of cGMP laboratory experience and/or cleanroom experience
• Familiarity with microbiological instrumentation theory and practice
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely
• Ability to learn, comprehend, and follow procedures in a cGMP environment

Work Environment

The department currently has 7 people: 2 Group Leaders and 6 Micro Team Members. The shift is from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. You will spend approximately 4 hours a day in a cleanroom. Prior to entering the cleanroom, you will prep your samples, gown up, and start sample processing for 1.5-3 hours. After a break, you will return to the cleanroom for the remaining time to clean and perform environmental monitoring.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
