Job Title: Microbiologist

Job Description

The Microbiologist will perform raw material, in-process, and finished goods analysis. They will also conduct testing on environmental samples from within the facility. The role includes performing basic microbiological tests such as gram staining for identification, plating and streaking, enumeration, total counts, yeast, and mold. Familiarity with USP methods is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct raw material, in-process, and finished goods analysis.
• Perform testing on environmental samples from the facility.
• Execute basic microbiological tests including gram staining, plating, streaking, enumeration, and total counts.
• Identify and count yeast and mold.
• Ensure accurate and reliable test results.
• Call out and correct any discrepancies in test results.

Essential Skills

• Experience with microbiological testing methods such as gram staining, plating, and streaking.
• Knowledge of FDA regulations and laboratory practices.
• Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology.
• 2 years of industry experience in microbiological testing.
• Experience with FDA or GLP testing procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with USP methods.
• Motivation to learn and grow within the company.
• Ability to work well within a team and cross-train in various roles.

Work Environment

The position is based in an OTC Microbiology Lab, with working hours from 8am to 5pm. The team is collaborative and offers cross-training opportunities, promoting growth for all team members. Recent acquisitions and a focus on organic growth present future expansion opportunities. The role is well-suited for someone looking to develop within the outdoor OTC pharmaceutical market.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
