Position Summary:
The Quality Control Microbiologist will support the microbiology-related assay testing and validation activities for GMP, clinical, and development product release. This position involves performing microbiological testing, method validation, and supporting various activities to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Position Duties & Responsibilities:
- Microbiological Method Validation: Conduct microbiological method validation, including bioburden and endotoxin testing, to support biopharmaceutical, clinical, and development products.
- Execution of Testing: Perform microbiological testing per approved protocols for routine and investigational samples.
- Compendial Method Familiarity: Maintain familiarity with all microbiological compendial methods for specific commercial products. Keep records of method qualification/validation and other microbiology-related methods.
- Compliance with Revisions: Stay current with revisions to compendial monographs and updates to compendial test methods used within the microbiology division.
- Task Prioritization: Demonstrate the ability to support and prioritize multiple activities simultaneously while adhering to project timelines and commitments.
- Knowledge of Analytical Methods: Possess thorough knowledge of microbiological analytical methods, compendial requirements (USP, EP, JP), and a solid understanding of biologics and manufacturing processes.
- Computer Proficiency: Utilize strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, LIMS, and SAP.
- Prior QC Microbiology Experience: Previous experience working in a QC microbiology testing laboratory is required.
- Independent Work: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while ensuring quality and compliance in testing activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Microbiology Expertise: Strong experience in microbiology with a focus on endotoxin and bioburden assays.
- Compendial Knowledge: In-depth understanding of compendial methods (USP, EP, JP) and microbiological test requirements.
- Testing and Validation: Experience with microbiological method validation and executing microbiological testing in a regulated environment.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and LIMS/SAP systems.
- Experience in QC Laboratory: At least 2 years of experience in a QC microbiology laboratory, with exposure to pharmaceutical or related industries.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, life sciences, or a related technical field.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00
