Job Description:
- We are seeking a dedicated Microbiologist to join our team. This role involves performing Bioburden and USP testing a on medical device products, and ensuring all laboratory procedures are followed meticulously. The ideal candidate will have experience in aseptic technique, media preparation, and laboratory equipment maintenance. This position offers a significant opportunity for growth within the microbiology team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Bioburden testing on medical device products.
- Support the Micro team in various tasks.
- Prepare and sterilize media utilizing aseptic technique during sample preparation.
- Recognize malfunctions in laboratory equipment and either notify management or perform simple repairs.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and laboratory housekeeping.
- Follow all procedures related to data documentation, laboratory safety, and good laboratory practices.
- Train on USP 61 and USP 62.
- Potentially train on LAL testing and other microbiology techniques.
Work Environment:
- The current Bio department consists of about 20 team members.
- The environment is very clean and organized. This position operates on a standard 2nd shift from Monday to Friday, 3 PM to 12 AM.
- The facility is a brand new 74,000 square foot lab that includes Micro, R&D, Chemistry, Design and Verification, Calibrations, and Stability Lab teams all sharing space. There are quarterly team outings and a close-knit group within the Micro department.
- This role offers the opportunity to train on different microbiology skillsets and advance to a Microbiologist position in the future.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
