LTC Pharmacist

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Pharmacist to join our team. The Pharmacist will be responsible for reviewing prescriptions, compounding medications, directing other pharmacy employees, and dispensing medications. Additionally, the Pharmacist will provide counseling to nursing facility staff on medication use and general health topics.

Responsibilities:

• Review prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized prescribers to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed.
• Compound sterile and non-sterile medications using standard formulas and processes, such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
• Direct other pharmacy employees engaged in mixing, packaging, labeling, and changes to prescription orders.
• Ensure the accuracy of prescription order intake and the efficient fulfillment of orders.
• Dispense medications and provide support/counseling to nursing facility staff on the use of prescription and over-the-counter medications.
• Advise physicians about medication therapy and counsel nursing facility staff on general health topics such as diet, exercise, and stress management.
• Provide information on products such as durable medical equipment or home healthcare supplies.

Qualifications:

• Retail pharmacy or LTC experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college or school of pharmacy
• Pharmacy License in the State of Minnesota
• Willingness to obtain licensure for multiple states as requested by the General Manager
• 2 years of experience as a pharmacist

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62.00 - $65.00/hr.
