Job Title: Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for filling and compounding medications, engaging in phone work to confirm dosages with nursing staff, and labeling prescriptions. This position serves a large number of facilities with over 1,000 beds.

Responsibilities

• Fill and compound medications, including ointments.
• Communicate with nursing staff via phone to confirm dosages.
• Fill prescriptions for a variety of facilities, including nursing homes and assisted living.
• Label prescriptions accurately.
• Follow all pharmacy policies and procedures.
• Work in either daily fill or cycle fill departments, ensuring medications are ready for shipment or will last for 30 days.

Essential Skills

• Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT).
• 1-3 years of experience in a pharmacy or production-based position (e.g., serving, warehouse, assembly).
• Strong knowledge of medication and prescription handling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to apply as a licensed tech trainee for the Iowa Board of Pharmacy before starting the position.

Work Environment

The work environment is casual, with employees permitted to wear jeans and t-shirts, but closed-toe shoes are required. Shorts are allowed if they are knee-length, and no open shoulder shirts are permitted. This position requires the ability to stand for long periods. Fulfillment Pharmacy Technicians work in a production environment with rotating shifts from Monday to Friday (8am-7pm), Saturday (9am-3pm), and Sunday (10am-2pm). Shifts rotate weekly between 8am-4:30pm, 9am-5:30pm, and 10:30am-7pm. Technicians work one weekend every three to four weeks, with adjusted hours during the preceding week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00
