Job Title: Phlebotomist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Phlebotomist with strong customer service skills to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of phlebotomy experience, be detail-oriented, and proficient with computers. Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients upon arrival
• Perform blood draws using straight needles and/or butterfly needles (20-40 draws per day)
• Enter and update patient information into the system
• Process samples including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by test orders
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures
• Perform specimen decontamination and record maintenance data
• Document and update patient records through the internal system

Essential Skills

• 2 or more years of phlebotomy experience
• Proficient in using straight needles and butterfly needles
• Strong data entry skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Detail-oriented
• Proficient with computers

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish or Mandarin heavily preferred
• Experience with patient population ranging from children to geriatrics
• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience as a Phlebotomy Technician or Medical Assistant

Work Environment

This position is based in a patient services center located in Flushing. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:30am-4pm with rotating Saturdays. This is a stationary position with no nights, weekends, or floating required. The phlebotomist will handle around 30-50 patients per day and will be trained to take on additional tasks such as accessioning. The work environment is fast-paced and requires attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
