Job Title: Phlebotomist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist/Lab Aide to join our extensive medical group. This part-time position requires strong customer service skills, computer proficiency, and a valid CPT CA license. You will be working in both inpatient and outpatient settings, drawing blood and processing specimens. This role requires flexibility and a willingness to float and split shifts.

Responsibilities

• Draw blood from patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Process and run samples after drawing blood.
• Pick up STAT specimens as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients.
• Ensure computer proficiency for lab system operations, such as Cerner.
• Maintain flexibility with shifts and hours, including working 11 am - 7:30 pm on Monday, Thursday, and Friday.
• Travel to various locations within the region as required.
• Uphold the values of the organization through professional conduct.

Essential Skills

• Phlebotomy certification
• Blood draw experience
• Valid CPT CA license
• BLS certification
• Experience with neonatal to geriatric patients
• Computer proficiency with lab systems (e.g., Cerner)
• Strong customer service skills
• Minimum six months experience in an acute or sub-acute setting
• Experience with pediatric and infant draws
• Excellent attendance and behavior record

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Hospital experience is a must
• Experience in outpatient settings (e.g., LabCorp, Quest)
• Ability to draw 45-55 patients within an 8-hour shift in outpatient settings
• Ability to draw 20-30 patients within an 8-hour shift in inpatient settings
• Some medical to understand specimen urgency and blood draw techniques

Work Environment

You will be working in medical centers and medical office buildings in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This part-time position requires a flexible schedule, with shifts primarily from 7 am to 3:30 pm. You will need to travel to various locations within the region, delineated by North County and South County, which includes Central East and South quadrants

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00
