Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our team. The phlebotomist will be performing approximately 20-40 blood draws per day in a medium sized OBGYN doctor’s office setting. Patients will primarily be a combination of geriatric patients and OB patients/pregnant women. Hours are 1st shift, M-F.
The position will begin as a 3 month contract with potential to become permanent.
Responsibilities
- Will be performing draws for a lot of 3 hour glucose testing, swabs at times, pap smears, and other duties as necessary.
- The volume is not very heavy, but there is going to be a good number of things that need processed.
- Will perform data entry and other processing duties as needed.
- Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
- Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture blood drawing and or other specimen collection ex. urine or fecal as required.
- Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
- Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
- Label centrifuge split and freeze specimens as required by test order.
- Package specimens for transport.
- Stores specimen sample according to required temperature places samples in
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 6-12 months of experience in Phlebotomy
- OBGYN experience is preferred
- Experience working in a fast paced environment is preferred
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
