Phlebotomist

***Must be local to Dayton, Ohio***

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our team. The phlebotomist will be performing approximately 20-40 blood draws per day in a medium sized OBGYN doctor’s office setting. Patients will primarily be a combination of geriatric patients and OB patients/pregnant women. Hours are 1st shift, M-F.

The position will begin as a 3 month contract with potential to become permanent.

Responsibilities

• Will be performing draws for a lot of 3 hour glucose testing, swabs at times, pap smears, and other duties as necessary.
• The volume is not very heavy, but there is going to be a good number of things that need processed.
• Will perform data entry and other processing duties as needed.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture blood drawing and or other specimen collection ex. urine or fecal as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label centrifuge split and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Stores specimen sample according to required temperature places samples in

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 6-12 months of experience in Phlebotomy
• OBGYN experience is preferred
• Experience working in a fast paced environment is preferred

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
