There are multiple types of calibration positions opening related to performance, testing, safety, diagnostics, etc.
The Powertrain Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing best practice calibration solutions and performing diagnostic verification testing.
• Manage all technical aspects of the OBD diagnostic calibrations to meet CARB regulations
• Identify system requirements during system hardware design to ensure a robust diagnostic system
• Use standard instrumentation toolsets for data acquisition, storage, and analysis
• Calibrate diagnostic thresholds to meet CARB regulations
• Provide regular overview summaries and detailed reports on specific assignments, including timing projections
Tasks include:
• Will work hands-on with vehicles 50% of the time.
• Collecting vehicle data using advanced diagnostic and measurement tools
• Analyzing data to compare performance to specifications
• Hands on calibration to ensure performance meets specifications
• When analyzing data, may run simulations on a HIL bench for further analysis, troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Requirements:
- BS in Engineering (Masters Preferred)
- Strong Automotive Engine Knowledge
- Data acquisition
- Work Experience / Internship / School Organizations related to Engine Development
Preferred
• 3 years of experience in diagnostic systems calibration development
• Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Hardware In the Loop development/verification
• Database management
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.79 - $46.63/hr.
Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in Chelsea,MI.
