Job Title: Principal Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

This role requires extensive knowledge and familiarity with working with controllers, gimbals, and robotics. The right candidate will own the mechanical assembly from wheels on the ground up to the HPM (high powered microwave) end effector, leading the design of various subassemblies and integration motion control system elements such as motors, actuators, sensors, and controllers. This Principal Mechanical Engineer will lead the build and integration of positioners, including manufacturing, final assembly, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical assembly from wheels on the ground to the HPM end effector.
• Design various subassemblies and integration motion control system elements.
• Manage the build and integration of positioners, including manufacturing, final assembly, and troubleshooting.

Essential Skills

• Extensive experience in mechanical design and motion control products.
• Proficiency in robotics and SolidWorks.
• 8 years in electro-mechanical design, particularly in packaging.
• Experience with motors, actuators, sensors, and controllers.
• Proficiency in finite element analysis and GD&T.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Expert experience in electro-mechanical design of aerospace products, specifically packaging electronics.

Work Environment

High-paced environment with a tight-knit group and great team culture. The position requires 5 days onsite and offers high growth and upward mobility with the potential to advance to Director of Mechanical Engineering.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $183000.00/yr.
