Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Controls Engineer to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of various Process Control Systems, including the Distributed Control System (DCS). The Controls Engineer will develop and implement long-range plans for Process Control within the facility, maintain the reliability of Control Systems for Environmental Compliance, and interface with the plant's Technical and Operating Departments to identify opportunities for increased throughput, reduced waste, and improved energy efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the reliability and effectiveness of the various Process Control Systems, including the Distributed Control System (DCS).
• Develop and implement long-range plans for Process Control within the facility.
• Maintain the reliability of Control Systems to ensure Environmental Compliance of the operating units within the plant.
• Interface with the plant's Technical and Operating Departments to identify opportunities to increase throughput, reduce waste, and improve energy efficiency through additional Control Equipment or Strategies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a discipline related to the position. Open to an Associate degree in lieu of experience.
• 5 or more years of experience in Process Control in manufacturing. Chemical manufacturing experience is desired.
• DCS programming experience (ABB preferred, open to others).
• Knowledge of alarm rationalization.

Work Environment

This team handles all capital projects for the plant, from equipment repair to optimization and improvements. Flexible management allows for remote work availability one day a week. Long-term contract work is available, and per diem is offered for non-local candidates.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $80.00/hr.
