What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Development Project Manager position at Actalent?
Job Description: This is an open ended contract until the end of the year. The HM does not have the budget currently, but could be a potential for long term. He feels confident he will be able to.
The projects will be related to windows, patio doors and siding (vinyl/metal). Hybrid or onsite. Standard office environment attached to manufacturing. This individual will report into Supply Chain and support projects related to engineering design.
- The Project Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating multiple projects
- This individual will help drive projects on time, within scope, within budget and meeting project goals
- Develop project plans, goals, and objectives
- Define project milestones, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives
Stakeholder Management:
- Identify and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of project goals, progress, and challenges.
Project Execution:
- Monitor project progress and performance, ensuring projects meet deadlines, quality standards, and budget constraints.
Resource Management:
- Identify the resources needed for assigned projects.
- Coordinate with functional leaders to identify resource needs and resolve conflicts.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and issues within the project and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the project budget.
- Track project expenses and ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts as needed.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure projects adhere to quality standards and best practices.
- Plan and execute project quality control processes.
- Contribute to best project management practices and maintain project management discipline (includes conventional project management practices as well as AMI Stage gate process)
Performance Reporting:
- Develop and deliver project status reports to upper management and stakeholders.
- Utilize metrics and KPIs to assess project performance and implement improvements.
Change Management:
- Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Ensure all change requests are properly documented and communicated.
Must Have
- 8 years of experience with new product development
- Experience launching products from concept to launch
- Microsoft (Planner, Project etc)
- Bachelor's Degree- ideally in Business Management, Administration or Engineering
Nice to Have
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or PMP (Program Management Professional) certification
- Engineering experience
- Master’s degree
- Metals, vinyl, materials experience
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $56.00 - $62.00/hr.
