Job Title: Project Engineer - Construction

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Project Engineer with a strong experience in civil or landscape construction to join our team. This role involves both office and field work, focusing on the management and execution of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with project management and site supervision, and be proficient in industry-standard software tools.

Responsibilities

• Procurement of materials and services
• Management of submittals
• Handling RFI (Request for Information) processes
• Assisting the team with planning and scheduling
• Working closely with the Project Superintendent to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
• Collaborating with the Project Manager on budget reviews and cost coding to the appropriate activities in the field
• Assisting with monthly billing and tracking of extra work

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of related experience in construction
• Strong knowledge of civil or landscape construction
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, contract requirements, and schematics
• Experience in site supervision or project management
• Proficiency in HCSS Heavy Bid/Heavy Job, BlueBeam, and Procore software

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience
• 2 years of experience with a heavy/civil self-perform construction company preferred
• Experience managing RFIs, submittals, and change orders
• Ability to organize construction documents effectively

Work Environment

The position is approximately 80% office-based and 20% field-based. The work hours are from 8 am to 5 pm. The office is brand new, located in Bridgewater, and houses over 20 team members. We have been in the industry for over 25 years and were recently acquired, becoming part of a larger brand. We maintain a significant backlog of work with high-profile clients such as Port Authority, DOT, and Transit.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $38.46
