Job Title: Project Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our design and engineering team. This role involves overseeing various projects, including lumber drying kilns, wood-burning energy systems, and oil and gas heater skids. The Project Engineer will select components and equipment based on performance and price, and work with the Project Engineering Manager and wider engineering department to complete project scopes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage design and engineering projects.
• Select components and equipment based on performance and cost considerations.
• Work with the Project Engineering Manager and engineering team to complete project scopes.
• Perform thermal coil sizing and heat exchanger tasks, and implement design changes.
• Create and ensure accuracy of design packages.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager and wider team on received orders.

Essential Skills

• 5 years of mechanical design and project engineering experience.
• Experience designing in a heavy industrial setting, working with custom designed capital plant and process equipment.
• Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent discipline (e.g., Civil Engineering).
• P.Eng Designation or EIT, or willingness to work towards this designation.
• Experience with process or combustion equipment such as heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, burners, boilers, etc.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in wood products, pulp and paper, material handling, kilns, furnaces, piping design, and refractory design.
• Experience with large multi-disciplined capital plant projects.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering and instrumentation requirements.
• Project management experience.
• Experience with regulatory bodies such as TSBC and ABSA.

Work Environment

The Project Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager and the President, working alongside three other project managers/engineers. The environment is open with a casual dress code. As a premium manufacturer of turnkey installation of biomass and gas fired thermal energy systems, and lumber drying kilns, Our Client provides total project solutions from concept to completion, ensuring the highest quality products and services.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $67.31

This is a fully onsite position in Surrey,BC.
