Protective Relay Engineer - Position Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Relay Engineer to develop protective relay settings for microprocessor relays from various manufacturers, including SEL, GE, and ABB. The ideal candidate will have experience with short circuit analysis and relay coordination studies using specialized software.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop protective relay settings, including line differential and step distance schemes.
2. Conduct short circuit analysis and relay coordination studies using Aspen OneLiner and/or PSS CAPE.
3. Implement control and protection schemes, interpreting schematics and wiring diagrams.
4. Perform quality assurance and quality control checks of deliverables.
5. Mentor and manage staff at all levels.
6. Effectively manage tasks on multiple projects, prioritizing competing demands.

Requirements:

• Experience with SEL AcSELerator Quickset and GE EnerVista software.
• Strong project management skills, including resource management and problem-solving.
• Ability to work in a remote environment with minimal travel.
