Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Technician to join our team in the frozen bread manufacturing industry. The primary focus of this role is to ensure that our garlic bread products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This is a full-time, contract-to-hire position with long-term potential.

Responsibilities

• Collect samples of products or packages and monitor tests according to established procedures.
• Monitor processes to ensure consistent operation and document results neatly and precisely.
• Compile monthly line performance summaries using statistical software (SQC) or Excel for customer reports.
• Assist in resolving non-conformance issues and quality problems at the plant.
• Assist in investigating and completing root cause analysis for customer complaints or food safety incidents.
• Monitor and recommend the disposition or return of non-conforming goods.
• Perform pre-operational and environmental swabbing and inspection of equipment and facility, reporting any issues immediately.
• Perform calibration of lab equipment prior to start-up as assigned (weekly or monthly tasks) and maintain lab equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Follow and stay aware of plant GMPs, reporting anything that might negatively affect our products or company.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the QA Technical Manager.

Essential Skills

• Quality control and quality assurance knowledge.
• Experience in food safety and FDA regulations.
• Inspection and batch record management.
• Proficiency in chemistry related to food manufacturing.
• Strong skills in quality assurance testing.
• Proficiency in simple math and calculations.
• Detail-oriented with high accuracy.
• Honest, dependable, and accountable.
• Computer literacy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• BA degree OR Associates degree with 1 year in manufacturing.
• Experience in manufacturing quality, food quality, or food science.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing environment for bread production, where temperatures can vary from baking areas to freezers. The facility has a distinct garlic smell and can sometimes be a bit messy with butter. The team is very tight-knit, nice, and welcoming.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00
