Job Description

Our client is one of the world’s largest agricultural processors and food ingredient providers. Their products are made for food, animal feed, industrial and energy uses. Seeking a Lab Tech who will be responsible to work independently and will run the lab with the lab manager when they're available. They use a lot of unique instrumentation that most candidate will not be familiar with. Instruments used in the flour industry solely. This Lab Technician will be working with the quality team to perform laboratory analysis and QA/QC checks required for refinery analysis. The job responsibilities will be as follows:

• Conduct laboratory tests and analyze data for a variety of purposes, such as production, pollution control, quality control, and minor research
• Test and analyze products, such as feed, beverage, and industrial alcohol, to determine if the product meets plant specifications prior to release
• Release in-spec vessels and report out-of-spec vessels
• Test and analyze production samples, such as fermenters, beerstills, rectifiers, etc., and report uncharacteristic results
• Document results of tests, readings, etc. in logbooks and in TLC (Total Lab Client)
• Complete certificates of analysis
• Prepare chemical solutions for use in the lab
• Maintain and calibrate all lab equipment and related field instrumentation
• Maintain awareness and adhere to all FDA, GMP, TTB, USP, EPA, OSHA and employer standards and guidelines
• Support and comply with all food safety, quality, and legality requirements

Work Environment

The lab is small and fast-paced, with a total of four lab technicians. Instrumentation includes NIR, pH meters, ovens, and other industry-specific equipment. The work environment is very hands-on, and there are opportunities for long-term growth and potential leadership roles as the current lab manager approaches retirement.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.75/hr.
