Job Description
We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager to oversee and enhance our quality assurance and quality control programs for mission critical construction projects. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in QA/QC processes, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and monitor quality program metrics to evaluate project performance.
- Analyze metrics to understand root causes of trends and collaborate with relevant parties to correct any issues.
- Assist in the development of on-site partner construction QA and QC teams.
- Create QA/QC processes and standards to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, and facilitate cross-functional communication.
- Act as an interface between design, construction, facility operations, and general contractors.
- Provide training to personnel on quality procedures and their specific responsibilities within the QA/QC process.
- Coordinate quality issues between design, construction, and facility operations teams.
- Audit QA/QC activities of staff and subcontractors to ensure conformance with QA/QC procedures.
- Review and provide comments on submittals, particularly mechanical, engineering, and plumbing (MEP) submittals, for quality assurance.
- Conduct quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with requirements.
- Develop, review, and approve various levels of construction quality procedures, technical deliverables, and test plans.
- Recommend and verify implementation of corrective and preventive actions for project non-conformances and quality issues.
- Review commissioning agent scripts and provide feedback.
- Assist construction managers in reviewing turnover documentation packages for completeness and accuracy.
- Review energization, start-up, and commissioning schedules to ensure compliance.
- Drive closure of open issues in BIM360 and escalate outstanding items.
- Attend factory witness tests for OFCI and CFCI equipment and systems.
- Provide on-site visual inspections for construction quality control of OFCI and CFCI equipment and systems, documenting in BIM360.
- Confirm proper completion and retention of testing documentation.
- Review installed labeling, signage, and tagging.
- Develop project-specific QA/QC dashboards, equipment tracking matrices, and semi-annual QA/QC presentations.
- Attend required construction meetings, including weekly project, monthly global QA/QC, and daily start-up and commissioning meetings.
Essential Skills
- 5 years of experience in QA/QC programs for data centers or mission critical construction projects.
- Experience with Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build construction programs.
- Knowledge in civil/structural, mechanical, electrical, and IC disciplines.
- Proven experience leading QA/QC and commissioning programs.
- Experience in contractor, consultant, and vendor management.
- Familiarity with mission critical power and cooling infrastructure.
- Strong mechanical and electrical QA knowledge.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with cross-functional partners.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- QA or PE certifications are a strong plus.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with CSLA disciplines.
- Experience in vendor management.
- Experience on the build side of projects.
Work Environment
The role involves working in a dynamic and collaborative environment, interfacing with various stakeholders including design teams, contractors, and facility operations. The position requires attendance at multiple construction and quality meetings, and the use of BIM360 for issue tracking and documentation. The work environment is focused on ensuring quality and efficiency in mission critical construction projects.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $120.00/hr.
