Pay: $22 - 23/hr

Job Description:

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented QA Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our products through various quality assurance tasks. This role involves conducting inspections, performing tests, and maintaining records to ensure compliance with food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Weigh finished products at specified intervals and record deviations from the standard. Inform the Production Supervisor to make proper weight adjustments.
• Examine packaging labels to ensure correct labels are used for the product being manufactured, including correct UPC for the item number, allergen statements, and code dates.
• Inspect the quality of pouches, cartons, and shipping containers.
• Verify the accuracy of code dates on pouches, cartons, and shipping containers.
• Apply knowledge of hold/release procedures for nonconforming products or packaging.
• Maintain knowledge of SQF standards, HACCP, and other food safety initiatives.
• Perform hourly metal detector checks for potential foreign materials in the product (CCP).
• Conduct Critical Quality Point (CQP) checks.
• Perform sensory evaluations of ingredients and finished products for quality.
• Carry out Allergen Control and necessary swab verifications.
• Conduct chemical analysis/tests on ingredients and finished goods.

Skills & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma and 1 year of experience in a Quality function or BS in a scientific concentration, preferably within food quality.
• Comfortable working in an environment that handles allergenic materials (milk, soy, eggs, wheat, peanuts, and tree nuts).
• Ability to perform various quality checks and analyses.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
