Job Description
The QC Chemist is responsible for performing routine tests and checks, providing essential support in an onsite laboratory to assist Chemistry team projects. This role involves performing daily laboratory functions, conducting analytical testing, maintaining chemicals and consumables, ensuring smooth lab operations, and preparing relevant documentation in compliance with internal Quality Management System (QMS) and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
Responsibilities
- General lab housekeeping, maintenance, and organization of equipment, storage, and waste management aligned with company procedures.
- Ensure lab work is conducted appropriately under Quality Management System policies and procedures.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records in the QMS system.
- Calibrate equipment, complete maintenance reports, and perform routine checks in accordance with QMS requirements.
- Manage and update chemical and equipment inventories using specialized software/platforms.
- Oversee day-to-day lab operations to ensure all reagents, chemicals, consumables, and equipment are available and functioning properly.
- Handle purchasing, receiving, and documentation of consumables, chemicals, and equipment used in the Chemistry laboratory.
- Adhere to WHS policies and execute safety and environmental procedures in the lab.
- Assist in the continual development and improvement of procedures.
- Review and update internal and external procedure documents as necessary (WIQ, STM, IQ/OQ/PQ).
- Prepare risk assessment documents for identified risks of lab activities/testing and implement controls according to SSOP005.
- Perform assigned daily analyses ensuring the accuracy of analytical results, following procedures or under the direction of development scientists or management.
- Meet productivity and quality goals.
- Work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field.
- Hands-on experience in a chemistry laboratory.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Initiative, self-driven, flexible, and responsive team player.
- Strong attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in quality control within a laboratory setting.
- Knowledge of medical device industry standards.
Work Environment
This position requires working onsite from Monday to Friday, with a 1st shift schedule of 8am-5pm.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
