Job Description
In this role, you will use numerous analytical tools for large molecule analysis, such as Compendial Testing (pH, UV, Osmolality), and other minor equipment. This work will support GMP manufacturing for commercial product testing, stability testing, and other client-requested endeavors. Experience in working in a cGMP environment is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform Compendial Testing (pH, UV, Osmolality), Enzyme Activity Assays (temperature, incubation), Spectrometer, Plate Readers, SoloVPE, qPCR, Colorimetric-based assays (Picogreen, Bradford), and other minor equipment testing on In-Process, DS release, and stability samples, ensuring timely project delivery.
- Review laboratory data packets as assigned.
- Perform and author laboratory investigations as assigned.
- Conduct GMP testing in an analytical laboratory environment using HPLC and UPLC test methods (i.e., Reverse Phase, SEC, concentration, CEX, etc).
- Compile data for documentation of test procedures and prepare reports.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments such as quality assurance and data reviewers.
- Contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards.
- Recognize and report invalid/lab incidents/out-of-specification/out-of-trend results to laboratory management and recommend solutions.
- Perform all duties in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Safety guidelines.
- Participate in laboratory activities, performing safety inspections, and ordering supplies.
Essential Skills
- Experience in a GMP regulated environment, preferably pharmaceuticals (1-4 years depending on role level).
- Experience with Compendial Testing (pH, UV, Osmolality).
- Enzyme Activity Assays (temperature, incubation).
- Use of Spectrometer, Plate Readers.
- Qualitative pipetting.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical pharmaceutical, biology, chemistry, biotechnology, or related field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with SoloVPE, qPCR, Colorimetric-based assays (Picogreen, Bradford).
- Knowledge of EMPOWER and MS Office and laboratory computer programs.
- Peer data review and investigations (OOS/OOT).
- Quality control and wet chemistry experience.
- Flexibility, good organization and planning skills, attention to detail, and a positive and collaborative demeanor.
Work Environment
This position is within a newly formed team of 7 within the QC Analytical team, which has over 80 team members. The role involves 3-6 months of training, requiring testing on each test before moving to the next. The work is performed in a pharmaceutical lab setting, involving bench work.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
