Job Title: Quality Control Microbiology Lab Tech

Job Description

The Lab Tech will perform all functions within the QC Micro Lab including preparation, environmental swabbing for pathogens, and internal quality auditing of the facility. The position requires analytical testing such as moisture, fat, pH, salt, and titratable acidity, as well as microbiological testing, including standard plate count, yeast and mold, coliform, E.coli, Staphylococcus, Listeria, and Salmonella. All test methods are traditional BAM or AOAC approved methods (no petrifilm). The role also involves the calibration of lab equipment. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7am-4pm.

Responsibilities

• Perform all functions within the QC Micro Lab.
• Conduct environmental swabbing for pathogens.
• Perform internal quality auditing of the facility.
• Conduct analytical testing for moisture, fat, pH, salt, and titratable acidity.
• Perform microbiological testing, including standard plate count, yeast and mold, coliform, E.coli, Staphylococcus, Listeria, and Salmonella.
• Utilize traditional BAM or AOAC approved test methods.
• Calibrate lab equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology (or equivalent coursework and lab skills in Microbiology).
• 3.0 GPA preferred, with transcripts required to review Microbiology coursework and grades.
• At least 1 year of experience in a Microbiology Lab (in-school experience acceptable).

Work Environment

This role is based in a food manufacturing testing laboratory. The job requires effective communication and the ability to take direction. You will be on your feet for the majority of the day. The company offers a 401k plan, 2 weeks of vacation, 9 holidays, and 2 floating holidays. Additionally, lunch is provided to all employees.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40000.00 - $55000.00/yr.

This is a direct placement role and company Benefits would be provided by Jeneil Biotech and available upon request of the candidate.

Salary : $40,000 - $55,000
