Job Title: Quality Control Specialist

Job Description

The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for performing analytical procedures on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. This role also includes assisting with the investigation and resolution of operational product issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical procedures on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
• Record all testing results in a timely manner and perform computations leading to accurate data reporting.
• Notify Quality Manager and others promptly when ingredients or products do not meet specifications.
• Assist with product problem investigation and resolution, as well as addressing customer concerns.
• Respond to internal calls to provide technical product assistance and manage laboratory supplies including chemicals, equipment, and equipment parts.
• Follow plant and laboratory GMPs and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
• Perform routine maintenance on lab equipment as required and troubleshoot any equipment issues.
• Ensure all laboratory chemical MSDSs are reviewed and filed.
• Manage lab database tracking for all daily lab analyses of both finished products and ingredients. Create and develop reports as needed from the system.
• Maintain and organize all storage locations for hazardous materials and supplies in a safe, well-identified location.
• Read and properly interpret documents such as lab results, SOPs, GMP Manuals, HACCP programs, and procedure manuals.
• Monitor and communicate trends and issues on all ingredients and finished products. Discuss issues with Quality Manager, Plant Manager, or others as appropriate.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Degree in the Sciences
• 2 plus years of QC Lab experience with Analytical Instrumentation is preferred
• Experience with ICP-MS analyzing Heavy Metals and Minerals is highly preferred

Work Environment

This position is based in a Manufacturing facility for Human Nutrition and Dietary Supplements. The working hours are from Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays. The role is primarily for the second shift (2 PM - 10 PM), with a potential to switch to the first shift (6 AM - 2 PM) depending on availability

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
