Job Title: Quality Control Supervisor

Job Description

As a Quality Control Supervisor, you will perform testing to help develop methods for flow cytometry and QC analysis, ensuring compliance with regulatory agency requirements by enforcing a quality culture throughout the department. This role involves scheduling and monitoring daily operations based on projected client demands, conducting routine facility walkthroughs, and recommending process improvements to achieve greater efficiency. You will participate in department and cross-functional meetings, maintain audit readiness, and interact with internal and external customers to ensure proper sampling, reporting, and resolution of questions and concerns.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality practices
• Schedule and monitor daily operations based on projected client demands
• Conduct routine facility walkthroughs to ensure compliance
• Approve investigations and document non-conforming events and OOS
• Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency
• Participate in department and cross-functional meetings
• Maintain audit readiness by ensuring proper training of staff and reviewing documentation
• Interact with internal and external customers to ensure proper sampling, reporting, and resolution of questions and concerns
• Manage projects and lead initiatives in the workplace
• Build and manage a multi-sector workforce based on organizational goals and staffing needs
• Train and develop staff, provide performance feedback, and take corrective action as needed
• Promote continuous improvement and innovation
• Make effective, sound, timely, and informed decisions
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Communicate effectively using appropriate modes and media
• Foster integrity and honesty through mutual trust and respect
• Supervise and manage performance, ensuring tasks are completed to predetermined standards

Essential Skills

• 5-7 years of experience in GMP and supervising
• Proficiency in flow cytometry, cell culture, aseptic techniques, assay, and document control
• Experience with microbiology test methods and use of necessary equipment
• Strong knowledge of FDA and EU regulatory standards
• cGMP experience
• Strong knowledge of analytical test methods and philosophies
• Proficient with computer software, including MS Office and LIMS
• Experience in quality control, bioburden, PCR, and quantitative analysis

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related scientific field
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in an analytical laboratory or within the biopharmaceutical industry
• Strong collaborative and influencing skills
• Ability to work well in a matrixed environment
• Experience in training and leading others in a laboratory setting

Work Environment

You will be part of the QC Analytical Team, working within an aseptic quality environment. This role operates within a professional office environment of a manufacturing operations plant, using standard office equipment. The noise level is moderate, and the seating includes open space, cubicle, and office space. You may occasionally be exposed to infectious diseases transmittable through human specimens, gases, corrosive chemicals, or liquid nitrogen. You must comply with the company's personal hygiene standards and complete sterile gowning training/qualification. The role involves working flexible shifts, including morning and second shifts, to handle samples for QC, clean the lab, set up equipment, and perform controls. All methods and SOPs are electronic-based, while testing and documentation are paper-based.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $52.00/hr.
