Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Pay: $20-$22/hr

Job Description

The Quality Control Chemist performs qualitative and quantitative testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products, as well as other samples for the purposes of quality control, product development, and regulatory conformance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using Symrise, FCC, USP, and AOAC wet chemical and instrumental testing methods.
• Perform microbiological testing as trained and required.
• Provide first-line operation and day-to-day instrument and data system maintenance and calibration.
• Validate test instruments and methods as required.
• Perform project analysis in support of QA, QC, Divisional, and Regulatory requirements.
• Assist other departments and members of the lab in their requests for analytical testing and results.
• Conform to documented roles and responsibilities for this position.
• Maintain timely and complete test method certification for this position.
• Complete all related quality testing and quality process responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor.

Essential Skills

• Expertise in wet chemistry, GMP, and microbiology.
• Understanding of quality systems such as GLP, SQF, ISO-9001, and HACCP.
• Proficiency in laboratory quality control and assurance practices.
• Experience with SAP is preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• BS or BA in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, or a related field with Chemistry coursework.
• If lacking a degree, 3-5 years of experience in food quality is required.

Work Environment

The position is in a laboratory environment. It is a third shift position with a flexible start time between 9 PM and 7:30 AM (e.g., could work 9 PM-5:30 AM or 11 PM-7:30 AM). Training will be provided for 1 week on the first shift (8 AM-4:30 PM) and then 1 month on the second shift (2 PM-10:30 PM).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
