Job Title: Quality Control Laboratory Technician

Job Description

The Quality Control Laboratory Technician is a cross-functional position focusing on Quality Compliance and Documentation. This role involves testing production samples, maintaining quality control databases, processing batch flows in the ERP system, and ensuring quality standards are met throughout the production process.

Responsibilities

• Test production samples and calculate adjustments to ensure kettles meet final production specifications.
• Operate laboratory equipment including pH meter, Brix Refractometer, Moisture Analyzer, and Balance.
• Read, understand, and verify the accuracy of batch tickets.
• Maintain the quality control database for in-process and final inspection results.
• Process batch flows in the ERP system, including raw material consumption, finished goods lot creation, and QC data entry for certificates.
• Notify the manager of any quality issues and execute non-conformance protocols.
• Test and inspect finished goods and product packaging.
• Conduct incoming/outgoing inspections, process inspections, and analysis.
• Follow procedures and recommend changes to promote continuous improvement.
• Test raw materials.
• Organize and monitor production retains for accuracy throughout the shelf life.
• Perform monthly cycle counting activities on materials required for Supply Chain Management.
• Assist the manager as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in laboratory equipment and analytical techniques.
• Experience in quality control on raw materials and in-process samples.
• Knowledge of wet chemistry, food chemistry, and general chemistry.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, and compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and solve problems in standardized situations.
• Must be able to make real-time decisions in a fast-paced environment for in-process batch adjustments for quality specifications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds regularly and up to 60 pounds occasionally.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision and color vision.

Work Environment

The work environment includes occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and a moderate noise level. Employees are regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $47840.00/yr.
