Job Title: Quality Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Technician to test finished products for various parameters including acid, salt, pH, and sulfites. The role also involves performing metal detection, checking fill weights, drained weights, and identifying defects or abnormal colors and flavors. Additionally, you will ensure correct coding on packaging and cases, perform audits, and resolve all issues related to product quality.

Responsibilities

• Test finished products for acid, salt, pH, and sulfites.
• Perform metal detection and check fill weights, drained weights, and identify defects or abnormal colors and flavors.
• Ensure correct coding on packaging and cases.
• Perform audits and problem-solve all issues related to product quality.
• Complete quality assurance/control paperwork.
• Comply with GMPs, safety and quality standards, food safety measures, OSHA, and other safety regulations.

Essential Skills

• Degree in the Sciences (Biology, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Food Science, Biochemistry, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to uphold quality standards and hold manufacturing accountable.
• 1 years of experience in Quality.
• 1 years of GMP and FDA/USDA experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous Food Manufacturing or HACCP/Food Safety experience is a plus.

Work Environment

This role is based in a food manufacturing facility where sauerkraut is produced. The smell can be intense at times. While primarily lab-based, you will be required to collect samples on the production floor. The position includes a second shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and a third shift from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays during harvest season. Training will be conducted on the day shift and will last 2-4 weeks. Compensation includes a $1 shift premium for second or third shifts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00
