Job Title: Radiation Therapist

Job Description

Deliver accurate radiation therapy treatments utilizing a linear accelerator and assist in patient simulation. Accurately set treatment parameters and record proper documentation of all treatments and procedures. Perform daily QA and warmup procedures, schedule daily treatments and other appointments, and monitor patient well-being over the course of treatment, providing patient education when needed. Observe patients for evidence of complications and report to the physician as appropriate. Coordinate daily radiation therapy appointments and CT scans, handle daily and weekly filming for treatment purposes and verification, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Focus on providing radiation treatments including High Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy and Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT).

Responsibilities

• Handle daily and weekly filming for treatment purposes and verification.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Engage in professional development and continuing education.
• Treat approximately 20 patients per day per machine, primarily for prostate cancer.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) preferred.
• ARRT Registered.
• IEMA Licensed in IL.
• ACLS and BLS active in IL.
• Ability to perform each essential duty adequately.
• Bilingual in Polish or Russian preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment is a stand-alone clinic. You will work in a positive team environment with six other full-time radiation therapists. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7am-4pm with some flexibility if needed. No weekends, travel, or on-call duty is required. The primary personality trait sought is a team player who prioritizes patient care. A sign-on bonus of $5000 is available for full-time employees.
