Job Title: Xray Technologist

Job Description

X-ray technologists are responsible for taking X-rays of patients’ internal anatomy to aid physicians in diagnosing illnesses, diseases, or injuries. They explain x-ray procedures to patients and ensure they are exposed to limited radiation.

Responsibilities

• Verify patients’ identity and review physicians’ orders before beginning x-ray procedures.
• Use x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients’ bones, tissues, and organs as per physicians’ written orders.
• Explain x-ray procedures to patients and answer their questions.
• Position patients accordingly, which may include lifting and moving patients with limited mobility.
• Limit patients’ exposure to radiation by placing lead shields on patients where needed.
• Ensure that the x-rays taken are of high quality to prevent repeat procedures.
• Ensure that the x-ray equipment is regularly serviced and in good working order.
• Promptly notify management of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.
• Maintain an accurate record of completed x-ray procedures.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in using the Modmed system (Modernizing Medicine) EHR.
• 2-3 years of experience.
• Experience with digital scanning machines.
• Specialization in orthopedic imaging.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• NJ state license.
• Proven experience working as an X-ray technician.
• Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in radiologic technology, radiology, or a related field.

Work Environment

This role is based in an orthopedic office, seeing patients for bone-related issues. You will work onsite for 5 days a week from 8 AM to 4 PM, with no weekend shifts. The position involves working with two providers at a time, rotating among ten, and handling a high volume of bone scans, typically 20-30 scans a day. The office has scheduled patients with little to no walk-ins.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $78080.00/yr.

3 weeks of PTO - includes NJ Sick, but it's all in one bucket. Can't use PTO in the first 3 months, but still accrue time biweekly.

8 paid holidays per year - New years, presidents day, Memorial day, 4th of July, Labor day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas. We also try to sneak in a long weekend if holidays fall on a Thursday or Tuesday. Half days usually before New years and christmas.
