Job Description
We are actively hiring a Mechanical Engineer to support Nuclear Power Plant Engineering projects! This person has the ability to work 100% remote within either the Central or Eastern Time Zone, and will be supporting a team out of Chicagoland, IL. This position is open due to a rapid increase in projects, including a $6million project on the East Coast. This company is a leader in innovative Life Cycle Management solutions, specifically within the Electricity industry. They offer interesting and challenging projects in the Energy sector, along with a positive work environment and career stability.
Candidates MUST HAVE Nuclear Design experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Complete engineering projects by analyzing problems and controlling project elements
- Provide expert advice on design processes or construction methods
- Formulate and direct investigations on prototype, model, and system studies
- Analyze and interpret data obtained from studies and recommend practical application of results
- Demonstrate ability to perform review of complex calculations and design deliverables
- Investigate and establish general performance specifications for components, equipment, systems, processes., etc.
- Evaluate mechanical and electromechanical systems and products
- Apply principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials to work as needed
- Collaborate with team members on projects to determine priorities and implications on work of others
- Provide effective solutions and define appropriate deliverables that the client will need to solve the issue
- Approve work schedules and makes recommendations for increased resources and special equipment
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited school
- 8-10 years relevant work experience within Nuclear Design and/or the Nuclear Industry
- Proficient in Codes, Standards, and Regulations that apply to Mechanical Engineering Design of Nuclear Power Plants
- Knowledge and Implementation of the client Engineering Change Control Process of Nuclear Power Generation Utilities
- Knowledge of Nuclear Quality Assurance Standards
- Ability to interface effectively with station customers and gain their trust
- Excellent Time Management, Communication, and Interpersonal Skills
Work Environment
You will work in a positive and supportive environment with a diverse team of engineers. The company offers a flexible work-from-home/office schedule. This role can be 100% remote, provided the candidate is located in CST or EST time zones.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $57.70 - $76.92/hr.
