Job Title: Research Associate

Job Description

The Research Associate will support both the analytical services team and the global research operations team. This role involves maintaining lab inventory, processing biological samples, and assisting with animal research duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain walk-in freezer inventory and management.
• Process biological samples including inventory management, oven and dry matter analysis, sample homogenization, and cleaning lab ware.
• Assist scientists and research operations with drafting research protocols, drafting final reports, file and data management, data mining, document auditing, and quality control of data.
• Consolidate data points from multiple sources into Excel using Excel, Sharepoint, and other sources.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• BS Degree in Animal Science, Agriculture with Animal Emphasis, or related field
• General understanding of scientific terminology and data points
• Basic knowledge of Excel (inserting data, copying/pasting data, understanding fields and values)
• Good organizational skills
• Basic lab knowledge including lab safety, sample handling, and sample log-in

Work Environment

The position offers a hybrid schedule with all lab work performed onsite and some research work done remotely. The schedule fluctuates week over week, with an expectation of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, starting between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM. The work environment is primarily in a laboratory setting with cubicles in the office area. The lab space is brand new as of January 2024, providing a very nice and dynamic work environment. The company has an excellent culture, is team-oriented, and offers a social team atmosphere.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
