Job Title: Resident Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Resident Engineer to support our Stellantis wiring programs interfacing with audio systems. This position is based in our U.S. location and involves working closely with our partners in Mexico and Europe. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in automotive audio systems, mechanical and electrical engineering, and experience with Stellantis programs.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers to resolve design issues and problems, accounting for over 35% of the role.
• Track and communicate issues internally and with customers (approximately 35% of the role).
• Perform 2D and 3D packaging in Chrysler CN system (about 30% of the role).
• Provide technical support and expertise in automotive audio systems.
• Collaborate with the OEM's engineering team for successful packaging, integration, and implementation of audio systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation of customer activities, including test results, design changes, and feedback.
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project status and recommendations.
• Conduct objective and subjective audio evaluation and testing.
• Troubleshoot audio issues and ensure compliance with quality and performance standards.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, Product Design Office, and software.
• Travel to Mexico and possibly Europe (Germany, Poland, Italy) 1-2 times a year.

Essential Skills

• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical and electrical engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience working on audio components.
• 5 years of experience in product development and validation.
• Proficiency with CAD software for 2D and 3D packaging.
• Experience working with Stellantis or on Stellantis/Chrysler programs.
• Strong technical knowledge of audio systems, automotive electronics, and vehicle integration.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering.
• Previous experience working with companies in Europe.
• Ability to speak Italian is a plus.

Work Environment

Our small office is located in Lake Orion, where you will work alongside 1-2 other people. The expectation is to be in the office 3 days a week with the flexibility to work remotely on other days. You will need to work independently, define your priorities, and have an entrepreneurial mindset, as you will be one of the few team members in the U.S. operation.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00
