Job Description

Provide technical expertise to managers and supervisors in establishing techniques and procedures for the elimination or control of unsafe behaviors, environments, and hazards. Plan and conduct periodic and unscheduled surveys and inspections, assist in the update and maintenance of the company safety manual, and develop and conduct risk assessments and Job Task Analyses for relevant tasks. Coordinate with operating activities to provide safety training and ensure safety awareness throughout the company. Assist in the maintenance of accident record keeping, provide technical assistance with the investigation of accidents, incidents, injuries, and illnesses, and foster a team environment when advising on needed corrections. Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Provide technical expertise to managers and supervisors.

• Plan and conduct periodic and unscheduled surveys and inspections.
• Assist in updating and maintaining the company safety manual.
• Develop and conduct risk assessments and Job Task Analyses for relevant tasks.
• Coordinate with operating activities to provide safety training.
• Ensure safety awareness throughout the company.
• Assist in the maintenance of accident record keeping.
• Provide technical assistance with the investigation of accidents, incidents, injuries, and illnesses.
• Foster a team environment when advising on needed corrections.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• 2 years experience working with OSHA regulations and safety procedures
• Understanding of Workers’ Compensation
• Strong technical writing ability
• Ability to adapt to a changing work environment
• Ability to act independently with minimal daily direction
• Ability to work closely with all levels of the company
• High energy and self-motivated

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Certified OSHA Outreach Trainer for the Construction Industry (preferred)
• Proficient in the use of Google Apps and internet navigation

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00
