Job Title: Safety Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations. This role involves supporting field personnel with task-specific PPE, collaborating with project managers and the safety director to address safety concerns, and developing site-specific safety plans. You will be responsible for incident reporting and investigation on jobsites, onsite representation during OSHA investigations, and creating and presenting monthly safety trainings.

Responsibilities

• Enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations.
• Ensure all field personnel are supported with task-specific PPE.
• Collaborate with project managers and the safety director to address safety concerns and develop site-specific safety plans, including JHA's or specific safety plans.
• Report and investigate incidents on jobsites, assist HR with the insurance process, and document observations onsite.
• Represent the company onsite during any OSHA investigations.
• Create and present monthly safety trainings to personnel.
• Select and distribute prevalent weekly toolbox talks for all employees.
• Keep certifications and compliance affiliations current (ISNetworld, Avetta, etc.).

Essential Skills

• Previous safety professional or field experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CHST, OSHA 500 trained, OSHA 30.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
• Strong analytical skills with an ability to identify hazards and implement solutions.
• Professional and thorough verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
• A strong desire to continue improving safety knowledge.
• Ability to travel to job sites, including out-of-town work periodically.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in safety management within the construction industry.
• EHS knowledge and implementation.

Work Environment

This position is onsite at a large industrial battery plant in Binghamton. The work environment is industrial, requiring adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment. The role may involve travel to various job sites, including periodic out-of-town assignments.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
