Job Title: Sample Coordinator

Job Description

As a Sample Coordinator, you will receive, process, assess quality of, accession, and prepare human and animal study specimens, including tissues, plasmas, serums, whole blood, and PBMCs, for distribution to clients and external analytical laboratories. You will work closely with various departments, including histology technicians, pathology, human tissue sciences, study managers, and project coordinators, to ensure the proper handling and distribution of specimens.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, and assess the quality of human and animal study specimens.
• Accession and prepare specimens for distribution to clients and external laboratories.
• Take inventory of specimens and record any discrepancies.
• Exhaust specimens in accordance with biohazard regulations.
• Use the RTLIMS system to manage the database of specimens and ensure the chain of custody.
• Liaise with the Media Sciences and Shipping/Receiving department for fresh tissue media.
• Serve as the first point of contact for any specimen-related matters or concerns, including quality and Service Level Agreements.

Essential Skills

• Sample management and preparation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• 2-3 years of experience in a relevant field with GXP experience preferred.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive customer relationships.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a proactive approach.
• Expertise in identifying inefficiencies and recommending improvements.
• Detail-oriented, technically proficient, organized, and a problem solver.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. You will be working in a collaborative environment with multiple departments to ensure the quality and proper handling of specimens.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00/hr.
