Job Title: Senior Controls Engineer

Job Description

The Senior Controls Engineer will work with and supervise a team of 3-5 Controls Engineers. This role involves operating computer systems, creating electrical schematics, and conferring with technical personnel to prepare designs or operational plans. The Senior Controls Engineer will also discuss designs or plans with clients, maintain electronic equipment, direct equipment maintenance or repair activities, and oversee installation activities. Additionally, the role involves preparing operational and development reports, investigating system, equipment, or product failures, estimating technical or resource requirements for development or production projects, and programming PLCs and HMIs according to customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate computer systems
• Create electrical schematics
• Confer with technical personnel to prepare designs or operational plans
• Discuss designs or plans with clients
• Maintain electronic equipment
• Direct equipment maintenance or repair activities
• Direct installation activities
• Prepare operational and development reports
• Investigate system, equipment, or product failures
• Estimate technical or resource requirements for development or production projects
• Program PLCs according to customer functional specifications
• Troubleshoot and debug PLC programs
• Program HMIs according to customer specifications

Essential Skills

• PLC programming
• Controls engineering
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field
• Programming and troubleshooting PLCs
• Experience with Allen Bradley
• HMI programming and debugging
• 5-7 years of Controls Engineering experience
• Experience with packaging machines and equipment
• Leadership experience overseeing controls

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field
• Previous leadership experience as a Lead or Supervisor overseeing controls

Work Environment

The position is based in the Jeffersonville with 30-40% travel. Initially, travel will be more frequent to get to know the customers, but will reduce to 30-40% once familiar with the role. The Senior Controls Engineer will guide and supervise 3-5 Controls Engineers and report to the Engineering and Production Manager. The company provides a company credit card, phone, and a per diem for meals.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $115000.00/yr.

Vacation:
• 1-3 Years: 20 days
• 4-8 Years: 25 days
• 9-13 Years: 30 days
• 14 Years: 35 days
Up to 10 days may be carried over, to be used by the next December 31
