Job Title: Sr. Microbiology Scientist

Job Description

Our client a major biopharmaceutical company is seeking a Sr. Scientist to provide critical support within their Method Transfer and Development Group. This site has flexible, multi-product manufacturing capabilities and facilities focused on vaccine intermediates, drug substances, and gene therapy drug substances and products. The vaccine manufacturing capabilities center on large-scale microbial fermentation, purification, conjugation, and cell banking. As a Sr. Scientist, you will work to transfer new methods for vaccine and monoclonal antibody intermediates to the site.

Responsibilities

• Transfer new methods for vaccine and monoclonal antibody intermediates to the site.
• Work on high-profile, fast-track projects for the site.
• Troubleshoot assays and improve microbiology methods.
• Develop assays and validate methods.
• Conduct quality control and bioanalytical testing.
• Perform cell-based assays and ELISA.
• Engage in technical writing and presentations.

Essential Skills

• BS with 10 years of industry experience, preferably in GMP; MS with 8 years of industry experience, preferably in GMP; or PhD with 4 years of industry experience, preferably in GMP.
• Extensive hands-on experience and strong experience in pharmaceutical microbiology.
• Experience with microbiology techniques including endotoxin, sterility, and bioburden testing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
• Experience with molecular biology.
• Proficiency in cell-based assays and ELISA.
• Familiarity with LIMS.

Work Environment

This position is within a large pharmaceutical manufacturing organization focused on vaccine, gene therapy, and monoclonal antibody intermediate manufacturing. The team consists of 5 people who will focus on the project. The work schedule is 1st Shift, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional weekend work, though not likely. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
