Job Description
We are looking to build a Sustaining / Continuation Software Team. This team will support existing products in the field for any issues that arise and handle general continuation engineering responsibilities. The software engineers will support PC style software that operates complex medical capital equipment in an operating room. These systems integrate off-the-shelf imaging software with custom software that controls the therapy delivery device and the positioning system. This role focuses on the Windows C# .NET software that interfaces with other systems. The individual will partner with test engineers and other developers to determine root causes of issues and create corrective actions.
Responsibilities
- Support existing products in the field for any issues that arise.
- Handle general continuation engineering responsibilities.
- Support PC style software for complex medical capital equipment.
- Integrate off-the-shelf imaging software with custom software.
- Focus on Windows C# .NET software interfacing with other systems.
- Partner with test engineers and developers to determine root causes of issues.
- Create corrective actions for identified issues.
Essential Skills
- Medical device FW/SW developing experience.
- Familiarity with FDA guidance on SW development and V&V, and IEC or equivalent regulated business SW development lifecycle standards.
- Experience with C/C /C# programming languages.
- Experience with .NET framework and Windows services.
- Experience in developing, debugging, and troubleshooting complex SW systems.
- Expertise in investigating SW anomalies, analyzing log files, reproducing failures, and performing root cause analysis.
- Expertise in SW problem resolution process.
- Experience with source-code control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience with databases like Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience with tools for full integrated traceability from requirements to verification and validation (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitLab).
- Experience with different data formats and markup languages (XML, JSON, YAML, XAML).
- Experience using third-party APIs and working with external developers.
- Experience interfacing with hardware through socket or serial port.
- Experience with SW risk management and cybersecurity.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with front-end development using WPF or QT.
- Knowledge of DICOM/PACS.
- Experience working on multi-function teams (SW Developers, SW Testers, Product development, Risk, Cybersecurity, Customer-facing stakeholders).
- Diligent, detail-oriented, independent, good communicator, self-motivated, quick learner, team-oriented.
Work Environment
This work is to be performed onsite. The software sits on large complex systems, requiring both lab work and desk work in a newly constructed office space.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $120.00/hr.
