Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Integration Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves integrating and validating energy storage project-based software configurations with customer requirements for renewable assets. You will work closely with vendors to design, develop, and configure various renewable assets, including batteries, power converters, solar equipment, and protective relays. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of communication protocols and network configurations, as well as extensive experience in software testing and validation.
Responsibilities
- Integrate and validate energy storage project-based software configurations with customer requirements for renewable assets.
- Work with vendors to design, develop, and configure different renewable assets such as batteries, power converters, solar equipment, and protective relays.
- Understand and configure communications (Modbus/DNP3) and networks for energy storage projects.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure a high standard of safety and reliability.
- Validate integrated software features in an automated test platform.
- Release tested integrated software and supporting documentation for site commissioning.
- Perform regression testing to verify software features and bug fixes for field dispatch.
- Support the project design engineering, integration, execution, and commissioning.
- Collaborate within a fast-paced team environment to deliver high-quality products for customers.
- Work as an independent thinker who thrives in a dynamic work environment.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 2-4 years of work experience as an Integration Engineer II or III, or in a related technical field.
- Experience working with assets such as batteries, power converters, meters, protective relays, and industrial communication protocols.
- Understanding of three-phase power system principles, such as voltage/frequency variance and grid stability.
- Experience with software or firmware testing and validation in the renewable or industrial sector.
- Ability to read electrical single line diagrams, mechanical drawings, and network diagrams.
- Familiarity with SCADA, Modbus configuration, and Python scripting to write configurations in the Linux system or .json files.
- Experience with TCP/IP networking, switches, LAN and WAN configuration, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment.

- Travel to vendor, customer, and project sites – both international and domestic (
Work Environment
You will be working in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment that values high-quality product delivery. The role involves some travel to vendor, customer, and project sites, both internationally and domestically, but it will be less than 30% of your time. The position requires hands-on experience with electrical test equipment, and familiarity with SCADA, Modbus configuration, and cybersecurity best practices.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
